General research profile:
Assessment of neurohormonal, hemodynamic, metabolic and thermoregulatory responses to physiological stimuli.
• Metabolic and hormonal responses to glucose intake and exercise in people on a high-fat diet.
• Metabolic and hormonal responses to glucose intake and exercise in people with hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism.
• Modification of the central fatigue processes with the use of amino acid nutritional supplements.
• The impact of hypoxic (altitude) training on psychomotor performance
• Cardiovascular reactions to a short Valsalva maneuver at rest and during strength exercise.
• Comparison of non-invasive methods of assessing the activity of the sympathetic nervous system in humans.
• Non-invasive methods of continuous assessment of cardiovascular function in laboratory tests.
• The role of angiopoietin-like ANGPTL 3 and 4 proteins in the regulation of lipid metabolism during moderate-intensity exercise.
• Changes in the activity of lipoprotein lipase and lipid metabolism in muscles under the influence of hormonal factors and exercise (in animals).

Current research projects:
• Grant: 2014/13 / B / N24 / 03832 - project manager: prof. Robert Gil "Identification of viruses and assessment of ultrastructural changes accompanying the presence of the virus in the heart muscle tissue in patients with suspected post-inflammatory dilated cardiomyopathy"

Apparatus available:

• Tecan Spark 10M multi-sensing microplate reader
• T2000 treadmill
• Cycloergometers (Monark, Siemens)
• Ergospirometry (Medgraphics, Sensormedics Vmax 29)

• Vibrating platform
• System for continuous blood pressure measurement (Portapres)
• Ultrasonic homogenizer model 150 V / T (Biologics Inc)
Research methods
• Direct measurements metabolic rate in humans. (basal, in resting and during physical exercise) based of oxygen uptake and carbon dioxide production
• Aerobic and anaerobic exercise testing.
• Psychomotor performance testing.
