PH.D. STUDENT POSITIONS

IN TUMOR MICROENVIRONMENT LABORATORY

The Tumor Microenvironment Laboratory (TML) at the Mossakowski Medical Research Institute (MMRI), Polish Academy of Science (PAS), Warsaw, headed by Professor Agnieszka Bronisz, is looking for two Ph.D. students.

The student will join the T.M.L. supported by the National Science Centre 2022/45/B/NZ5/04226, which provides generous funding for future-oriented research with international scientific quality standards. 

The project aims to employ a noncoding RNA knockout strategy to unblock tumor microenvironmental therapeutic obstacles to oncolytic virus immunotherapy that improve treatment efficacy in a preclinical model of brain tumors.

Ph.D. student will be responsible for performing experiments, analyzing data, collaborating with other team members, performing literature searches, participating in lab meetings, participating in national and international conferences, and writing thesis and publications.

Requirements for the candidate:
1. Holds an MD, VMD, or M.Sc. degree in medicine, chemistry, biology, veterinary, bioinformatics,  or a related field
2. Is eligible for Ph.D. studies in Poland
3. Has solid knowledge of the principles of cell and molecular biology, virology, or informatics
4. Possesses hands-on experience in laboratory work and is familiar with cell and molecular biology techniques
5. Prior experience in vitro and in vivo cancer models, virus handling and analysis, cell culture, mass spectrometry, transcriptome, or bioinformatics will be an advantage
6. Is proficient in written and spoken English
7. Has excellent interpersonal skills, initiative, and ability to work independently and in a high-performance team

1. Full-time Ph.D. scholarship 4 years (8 semesters) funded by the N.C.N. (5000 PLN gross/month)
